    Philip,

You just brought back memories of July 21, 1969. I was working that summer at a hospital and living in employee housing. Being a poor student with minimum wage income I could not afford television in my room. No air conditioning either. After work on these hot July evenings, I would cruise in my VW bug with radio blaring: Crystal Blue Persuasion, In the year 2525, Spinning Wheel, My Cherie Amour, etc.

It was unsettling that my sing-alongs were constantly being interrupted with news alert updates regarding Apollo 11.

I never saw live TV coverage of Apollo 11, but have many fond memories of my VW bug, windows wide open blowing cool air in my face, listening and singing to the top 40 hits of the week, while cruising the cool, shady, backroads of Bergen County, NJ.

Now, thanks to you, Philip, I got Bob Hope’s theme song going round and round in my head.

    Thanks for the Memories.

    Regards,

    Frank
