    The 613 laws given to Moses by the Lord in Exodus are for the “heartless.”
    For the saved Jesus stated: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
    Paul explains in Galatians 3 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
    It is interesting to note that your story from the Midrash, Talmud (Shabbat 31a), is a negative command rather than the positive command of Christ, i.e., “Thou Shall Not” vs. “Thou Shall.”
